First 2017-18 Educator to Join Full-Time Faculty

Chesterton Academy of the Twin Cities has a unique array of personalities—and one of those shining personalities who has been a part of this community since the beginning of the school year is TfC Educator Lucas Berke. We've loved him from the beginning—but we are proud to announce that Chesterton Academy, where Lucas has been doing his service, must love him too. Chesterton just named Lucas to its full-time faculty, the first member of the 2017-2018 Teach for Christ Cohort to be so honored.

"Shining" is our word. Lucas would demur. But his household thinks it's apt. In addition to his responsibilities in serving the scholars of Chesterton Academy, Lucas is the men’s household leader—helping to build community among the TfC gents.

Prior to Teach for Christ, Lucas received his bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Nebraska—Lincoln. Upon graduating, Lucas worked for NET ministries in a variety of roles over the next four years—first as a team member, and then as a team supervisor.

“I was really excited about being a part of a brand new program, and saw so much potential in helping Catholic schools grow.”

Now Lucas has accepted a job teaching as part of the science faculty teaching for the upcoming school year at Chesterton Academy.

“I’m excited to be a part of such a tight-knit community that loves God and lives out the faith. I look forward to serving them next year.”
